On a recent trip to Baja California, I saw these interesting Brown Pelicans everywhere.  They are as plentiful there as sea gulls are here in the Pacific Northwest and, like sea gulls, love to hang out together on fishing boats. When it is breeding season, their heads turn these lovely shades of yellow and red (male and female both do this) and I was so glad to get the chance to see these magnificant birds up close!
