Torrey Creek is a tributary to the Wind River in Wyoming near the little town of Dubois. Ogden Pleissner spent many Summers of his youth working a dude ranch nearby. Torrey Creek was featured (although not named) in several of his watercolors depicting trout fishing. My plein air study in oil of this spot was speckled with dozens of tiny mayflies by the time I finished. I've caught and released some nice trout flyfishing here and enjoyed a sandwich and iced beer under the shade of the pine trees many times.
