Harbor Boats was inspired by a trip to Camden Harbor in ME. The light was hitting the boats from behind which left me with lots of white paper! In order to simplify the painting, I concentrate on the larger shapes. The technique of contracting on shapes allowed me to eliminate the details of a busy harbor. I think this technique gave it a more abstract feel.
