Watercolor painting from a photograph that I took of a couple of horses that were resting together in the paddock at Sun Mountain Lodge. I used mainly complimentary colors (oranges and blues), mixing some favorite transparent watercolor paints with my own handmade watercolors made from the earth pigments I've foraged here in southwestern Montana. I like to accentuate reflected color from the surroundings - especially when painting in the shadows.
