Ethereal is watercolor painting with a touch of white gouache to produce tints. It was painted on Arches cold pressed paper over a ground of acrylic gesso. I enjoy using gesso because it creates textures, atmospheric qualities and depth. I started with a landscape in mind but dropped any preconceived ideas and allowed the painting to simply take a form of its own.
