This painting was inspired by my being in the Pacific Northwest during forest fire season. On one occasion I was witness to all the deer, bears and other animals that became disoriented in the heavy smoke of a fire in the wooded area that we were located. It was frightening and devastating to see. The bear in this painting is looking at us, the starters of most wildfires and climate change. The reflection of the surroundings are on its lower body as the smoke starts to encompass the area. The cool blues in the sky will soon be replaced. It is a question to be answered.
