This is a portrait of my mother-in-law, Mary Fredrickson. The reference photo was taken a few months before she passed away at the age of 94. We had spent the morning at the beauty salon getting her hair done and the light and her gaze out to the future captivated me. She was an amazing woman who dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She was a blessing to all who knew her, and her kindness inspires me to be a better person.
