Towering above Paris on the highest hill in the Montmartre neighborhood, this travertine monument shines. I depicted it snuggled against the lush bushes and floras that hug the steps as one climbs to the summit. I applied an underpainting to give to give the white stone depth and structure. This is an unusual composition for this iconic cathedral, but I wanted to unite the man-made with the natural world.
