"Pears and Roses" depicts three roses in a family heirloom green depression pitcher with pears in the foreground. "While painting each still life, all of my senses become engaged—sight, smell, taste, and touch. This experience translates into the process of the painting. I not only express how the glass reflects the colors of surrounding objects, but also show the transparency and how sunlight refracts into its spectrum of colors as it passes through the glass."
