Welcome back to AZR after the fine summer break!

We’re delighted to begin the new season of AZR with Angela Bandurka. Angela Bandurka creates beautiful acrylic paintings in what she calls “Impressionistic Realism”, exploring the theme of connection. She has been a full time artist and art instructor since 2008 and her pleasant, instructive skills maximize the benefit of a critique conversation with her.

The subject matter of her work requires precise underlying drawing skills, and “The Power of Ovals” is the foundation for the event on Oct. 14th, 2024. The ellipse as part of perspective drawing can be a challenge, and this event will take some of the mystery out of getting the “ovals” just right.

Angela asks that members submit artwork, especially still life paintings, that contain ellipses.

NEW AND IMPORTANT! We are implementing a new painting submission system, and NWWS members may submit up to two paintings. Please read the instructions below:

TO SUBMIT WORK FOR REVIEW:

1. Register for the event by clicking the “Registration for Event” button. This allows you to receive the Zoom invitation for the event.

2. Prepare Images Properly – 1 or 2 (no more than 2) paintings and 1 or 2 support/reference images PER painting:
• Image(s) Size – minimum of 1600 pixels on the longest side.
• Label each painting image following: Your First Name_Painting Title_Image size in inches_Medium.
• Label each support/reference image (optional, up to 2 per painting, such as a value study or reference photo) following:
Your first name_Painting Title_Reference.

3. Submit Your Paintings – Click the “Have Your Work Critiqued” button. The form will appear.
• Each painting is a separate submission.
• After competing the first painting’s submission, a prompt will appear asking if you’d like to submit another.
• Submit no more than 2 paintings and no more than 1 or 2 (optional) support/reference images per painting.

4. Agree to be in attendance at the Zoom event when your paintings are reviewed.
