Painting # 2 is titled Explosion of Color. I used 150 lb. cold-press paper with gesso and watercolor. I enjoy painting on gesso because it provides barriers to prevent wet areas from combining with each other and creates wonderful natural-looking textural effects. I use complementary colors and negative/positive forms in my painting. Many accidents go into creating my paintings, and it’s a very freeing way for me to paint without fear.
