I had been reading a bit about Buddhist thought and came across a Zen poem about a Kingfisher who fell hopelessly in love with his own image. I live on a pond and Kingfishers kee-kee-keenig and diving into their reflection is easy to imagine as I see them here often. The first layer is a wash, followed, still wet, by watercolors directly from the tube, applied to a plastic card and scraped madly on 300# Arches to from rocks.
