Dining at a cozy remote Inn in Vermont one evening, I glanced over to my left and saw this scene across two rooms through a set of small kitchen shutters. Being dinner time it was busy with activity but I returned the next morning after breakfast when all was tidy and quiet and got my photographs. The graphic quality of the bright window shapes juxtapositioned against the hanging kitchen tools pleased me. Often a limited palette of complementary colors, one warm and one cool is a fun way to work. This painting is now a wonderful memory of this lovely inn and the people I met there.
