Until I saw a flock of peacocks on my brothers farm, I considered myself strictly a wildlife and equine artist in my Colorado home. The striking color of the peacocks necks inspired me to try and re-create this brilliant bird. I was only able to re-create this color using powdered watercolors. This was an exciting new discovery for me. I have discovered that with age, color is a primary and necessary ingredient in all my work. I love Plein Aire painting and I did a great many sketches and color trials on site. it was only in my studio with powdered watercolors that I found the answer!
