I have always tried to put as many purple flowers in my garden as possible because I think of purple as a regal and awe inspiring color. When walking through my garden one morning, I came across this lily that I acquired the previous year. I had no idea what color the flowers would be since it was a clearance item. Much to my delight it had sent up this bloom and wow what a flower it was!! I stopped and snapped a photograph and thought of the iconic quote from Alice Walker's The Color Purple, “I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.”
