Kampala, Uganda, is loud, crowded and busy! As Uganda's capitol it has a reputation to uphold when dignitaries descend upon this Equatorial country. Often when that happens, the city is “swept” of the “clutter” before the limos drive through. Prostitutes, street children and orphans (not always true orphans) are whisked off the streets and hidden away. This could be the eventual fate of this little beggar who asked for a hand-up while we stopped roadside to purchase fresh fruit for our meal. I didn’t paint her runny nose and dried tears; the fresh one tugged at my heart!
