I am deeply influenced by the natural beauty and vibrant culture of my childhood home in rural India. Growing up surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant colors, I developed a deep appreciation for the interplay of light and shadow in the natural world. For me, the process of creating is as important as the final product. I approach each piece with a sense of curiosity and play, allowing the medium to guide me as I explore the many ways that watercolor can interact with the paper. Through a combination of controlled brushstrokes and more fluid, gestural movements, I seek to capture the essence of the natural world. Ultimately, my work is about creating a sense of connection – to the landscape, to the medium, and to the viewer. Whether it’s a sweeping vista or a close-up view of a single tree, my goal as a painter is to create works that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
