I am a watercolor and dry media artist living in Gig Harbor, Washington. I am a member of the Peninsula Art League, the Northwest Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society. My watercolors and drawings have received numerous awards at fine arts competitions in California and Washington.
In my watercolor paintings I try to capture the interplay of sunlight and shadow in an array of local subjects, from coastal scenes to park settings to beloved locations around town. My style has been described as photorealistic, and I agree that I strive to reproduce in watercolor my chosen composition.
I walk by this storm water pond regularly and one day the light was fantastic, so I took this photo. The path circles the pond, and you can see the split-rail fence bordering the path across the water. The usual flock of ducks was absent that day, which is a shame since they deserve to be part of the composition.
