I am Kemberly Jimenez Romero, an emerging artist currently studying Visual Arts at Heritage University. I was raised in Zacatecas, Mexico, where I learned that art is everywhere; it just depends on the observer.
My journey in art began when I moved to the United States. Not knowing English initially created a huge barrier for me when it came to communication. I passed through a long time without expressing myself until I took my first art class, which helped me find a way to communicate without using words. In 2021, I had my first exhibition solo, and in 2022, I had my first group exhibition at Heritage University.
In my free time, I enjoy doing community service by working on small projects for members of the HU community. I love making art, showing the fullness of thoughts expressed in a piece. As an immigrant in the U.S., I want to ensure underrepresented groups have a voice and show off the awesomeness of diversity. In my art, colors are like music: they can make you feel things. That’s why I use lots of colors over my pieces to tell stories and create nice feelings.
