Retrolight series: glass marble balls are illuminated from below; the title of 23 is given by these info: 23th of July is the national day of marble balls and 2300°F is the cooking temperature of glass and other materials to create the spheres in 23hours circa. It's a memory of my childhood game, subject of pop-art that I follow as style. I studied and created this composition of the balls inside the transparent jar and each ball outside, put on a glass top, with a black background, so to play with transparencies, reflections and shadows. The white of the central ball is the white of the paper; all is illuminated with a source of light from the left and bottom.
