I live in Yakima and am a hiker and naturalist. One of my favorite subjects to paint are the fall colors and in this case I was amazed at the display of colors and shapes in such a small 4 x 6 foot ara along the Tieton River. The fluffy white puffs of white are what is left of the flowers and contain the seeds for next years plants. I love the lightness they give to this arrangement of leaves.
