My painting was inspired by the churning that we often feel inside our brains. Nowadays more and more of us have inner turmoil which we keep hidden. My painting is an expression of how that might look if we could peer inside for a moment. I used primarily watercolor paints on watercolor paper to create this painting. I added gouache with the watercolor paints to create the layering and depth to represent the layers in our mind. I added a small amount of ink to create the effect of neurons firing inside our brains. I hope my painting reminds viewers of the inside struggle we all have and to give each other grace.
