Stuff of Life was painted over an old painting that was never resolved. I often paint over old work as a starting point. My process involves a lot of adding and subtracting of elements of visual elements while looking for relationships in the new elements that are added. My approach is intuitive as I seek a fresh visual image that satisfies and challenges me. After years of painting representationally I have moved away from traditional imagery and focus on working only with the various visual elements of line, shape, color and texture.
