Seven women artists went to Brittany, France to paint and enjoy the “joie de vivre” that French culture provides. Everything about the experience was superb. We had a five minute walk to beautiful beaches, a small 19th chateau to ourselves, fabulous scenery and to top it all off, Fabien was hired to be our private chef each evening. He came in the afternoon with multiple coolers after having visited the local markets for the freshest of produce, meats or seafood. He got to work in the small kitchen, using his own professional tools, and came up with delightful entrees, salads, desserts, and of course, French wines. I enjoyed watching the intensity in his face when he was preparing. He never lost his focus, although our little group had plenty of laughter and conversation that lasted all through the evening.
