I paint mostly portraits of people and animals, but I also enjoy abstracts and semi-abstracts that express how we feel about events and places. This painting was inspired by my many walks in the woods. I never tire of solitary sojourns through the trees and the way fallen leaves allow the sun through to pass through the trees to illuminate the colorful fall spectacle on the ground. I scuffle the leaves and delight at the crackling swish against my legs. This is painted mostly from imagination but was inspired by my walks on the wilder parts of west Lake Samish.
